Sadia Imam highlights children sweating in classrooms as govt offices stay air-conditioned
Actor shares video showing circuit breakers removed, classroom fans switched off over high electricity bills

Actor Sadia Imam shared videos from a government school in Pakistan, drawing attention to rising electricity bills in primary schools and the difficult conditions children face having to study in extreme heat.
“These are two videos, one of the WAPDA SDO office and the other of the school, you decide yourself,” Sadia captioned an Instagram post contrasting two videos: one of an office equipped with multiple fans and an air conditioner and the other of a classroom with dozens of children studying in the heat, with no fans turned on.
When a woman in the video asked the students about the situation, they revealed that their teacher had instructed them to keep the fans switched off due to high electricity bills. The video also revealed that circuit breakers had been removed from classrooms to ensure that fans could not be turned on.
Many expressed concern under Sadia's post, with one user writing that this situation prevails across Pakistan. Meanwhile, another noted that the teacher involved was probably suspended.
The actor’s efforts to raise awareness about the issue sparked discussion online about the condition of public schools and the impact of rising utility costs on students’ learning environments.
