Heatwave alert issued for next week

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a heatwave alert for May 25 to 31. According to a spokesperson, the temperature during the period is likely to be five to seven degrees Celsius higher than normal in most districts of the province.
The temperature in upper Punjab may reach 42 to 45 degrees, while in various districts of South Punjab, the mercury is expected to go up to 50 degrees.
Intense heat has been predicted in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Lahore, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Kasur and Faisalabad. A significant increase in temperature has also been predicted for Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Sargodha, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Noorpur Thal and Sahiwal.
