Two FIA officers removed after Sarafa Bazaar incident

Federal Investigation Agency has taken disciplinary action against two officers following an incident involving alleged violent behaviour in Karachi's Sarafa Bazaar.
According to FIA statement issued on Tuesday, Director Karachi Zone took immediate notice of the incident and ordered legal as well as departmental proceedings. As part of the action, Assistant Director Syed Ali Mardan Shah, who was serving as in-charge of the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Karachi with additional charge of deputy director, was removed from his post and transferred to headquarters.
Another officer, Assistant Director Rabab Qazi, was transferred from the Anti-Corruption Circle to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
"A case has also been registered against a private individual allegedly involved in slapping a citizen during the incident," the FIA stated, confirming that a departmental inquiry had been launched against all officers and personnel present at the scene.
