Strict security protocols set for Pinky's court appearance

KARACHI:

Police have tightened security measures and prepared a comprehensive security plan ahead of the court appearance of Anmol alias Pinky, the alleged head of a cocaine trafficking network.

According to police sources, strict arrangements have been made for her appearance in court on Monday, following reported lapses during her previous hearing. Acting on directives from senior officials, SP Investigation City Fateh Muhammad Sheikh has formed a special security team.

A formal notification issued by SP Investigation states that a five-member team, including a DSP, has been constituted. The DSP Investigation Lyari has been appointed as the team leader, while officers from Mithadar, Chakiwara, Garden, and Baghdadi police stations have also been included.

All investigation officers will remain present with their respective manpower and official vehicles.

Police officials said Anmol alias Pinky will be produced in court in connection with cases related to narcotics and murder charges. She will be escorted from Baghdadi police station under tight security.

Security has been placed on high alert at the Baghdadi police station lock-up and surrounding areas. Under the security plan, one SP, two SDPOs, three SHOs, and more than 40 personnel have been deployed, with duties arranged in two shifts - from 8:00am to 8:00pm and 8:00pm to 8:00am.
