KARACHI:

Four foreign tourists narrowly escaped drowning after their boat capsized in rough seas off the Karachi coast due to strong winds, officials and local sources said on Saturday.

According to sources, the tourists were on a recreational trip in the Arabian Sea when turbulent weather conditions caused the boat to overturn. Three of the foreign nationals managed to swim to safety and reached the shore on their own.

However, the fourth tourist became trapped in the strong waves, prompting an immediate rescue effort by local fishermen from Ibrahim Hyderi who were already at sea for fishing activities.

Later, teams from the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and the Pakistan Navy joined the rescue operation and recovered the stranded tourist.

All four foreign nationals were shifted to a hospital for medical examination. After completing check-ups, they were discharged in stable condition.

The rescued tourists thanked the Pakistani fishermen and rescue authorities for their timely assistance and support.
