ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met a delegation of the All Pakistan Bedsheets and Upholstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) to discuss export marketing, branding, international market access, trade financing and issues facing small and medium enterprises (SMEs), according to a statement issued on Friday.

The delegation briefed the minister on its ongoing efforts to expand the footprint of Pakistan's SMEs in international markets through trade promotion initiatives. Fifteen member companies are participating in the Home Textile Sourcing exhibition scheduled from July 21 to 23, 2026, in Los Angeles through a dedicated Pakistan pavilion. The association requested the minister's patronage and support for targeted business-to?business engagements.

Kamal assured that Pakistan's trade and investment officers posted in the United States would facilitate APBUMA members at the exhibition to help forge meaningful collaboration with global brands and retailers.

The association also proposed bringing globally recognised exhibition platforms such as Heimtextil to Pakistan, saying that hosting such events would enhance the country's global visibility, attract international buyers directly to local manufacturing hubs, and create long?term branding and investment opportunities for the textile sector.

The minister commended the private sector's proactive efforts, noting that international exhibitions and direct engagement with foreign buyers are essential for improving country branding and expanding Pakistan's exports. He encouraged the industry to build on its momentum for greater penetration in existing and new markets.
