DI KHAN:

In a first in the history of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, unidentified terrorists linked to a proscribed organization have shot and killed an employee of the emergency service Rescue 1122. The slain rescue official's brother serves as a constable in the police.

The incident occurred in Bannu, where unidentified armed militants opened fire and martyred Usman, a driver for Rescue 1122. Police reported that the attack took place in the Zarghar Mamikhel area, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Hawed police station in Bannu.

The police have confirmed that the martyred rescue driver, Usman, was the brother of police constable Rukhsar. The body of the victim was transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu for a post-mortem examination.

It is noteworthy that this marks the first time in the history of K-P that terrorists have killed a rescue service employee.

Meanwhile, another injured person from a bomb blast that took place in the Sarai Naurang tehsil of Lakki Marwat district has succumbed to his injuries, raising the death toll to 11.

Details indicate that the blast occurred three days ago in the aforementioned tehsil. The latest victim, identified as Masood, was a fruit seller at the Amir Market. He was critically wounded in the explosion and was shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.

Local sources reported that a total of 46 people were affected by the blast. Of these, 11 have now been martyred, while 35 others, including women and children, were injured.
