Man injured in suicide attempt

A person suffered critical burn injuries in a suspected suicide attempt after setting himself ablaze in a room of his home in Iqra Town near Muzaffargarh road on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, an emergency control room received a call about a fire in the room. Rescue, fire fighting and medical teams were dispatched. Three emergency vehicles and rescue teams participated in the operation. As per reports, Sajid, 35 had allegedly locked himself in the room and set himself ablaze after becoming distressed due to domestic issues.

Family members and local residents managed to pull him out of the burning room before the arrival of rescue teams.

The Rescue 1122 medical team provided first aid and shifted him to Nishtar Hospital in critical condition. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within five minutes and completed cooling operations to prevent further damage.
