Suicide bomber killed on Punjab border

Security forces said they had foiled a suicide attack near the border of K-P and Punjab provinces, killing the attacker before he could reach a security checkpoint. An official said the bomber drove an explosives-laden vehicle towards the Mankur check post, a key installation overseeing movement between the two provinces.

The security personnel opened fire after identifying the vehicle as suspicious, triggering a premature explosion.
