Punjab road crashes claim17 lives

LAHORE:

At least 17 people died, whereas 1,455 were injured in 1,291 road traffic crashes (RTCs) recorded across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Of them, 580 people were shifted to hospitals, while 875 victims with minor injuries were treated at the spot by Rescue Medical Teams.

As many as 77 per cent of the road accidents involved motorbikes.

Rescue data showed that 855 adult and 57 underage drivers, 168 pedestrians and 449 passengers were among the victims.

The statistics showed that 264 RTCs were reported in Lahore.
