Missing boy found dead

An eight-year-old boy who had gone missing in Samundri was found dead under mysterious circumstances, with injury marks on his body, police said on Monday.

Ali Ahmed, a resident of Chak 447-GB, had gone to bathe at a bridge along with his friends on Sunday but not returned home.

His family searched for him on their own after he went missing. On Monday morning, villagers spotted the boy's naked body lying near a watercourse outside the village and informed the police.

Samundri Saddar police reached the scene and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem examination. The police said injury marks were found on the body and action would be taken in light of the post-mortem report.
