Women seats: ECGB accepts 36 nominations

The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan (ECGB) has completed scrutiny of nomination papers for women and technocrat reserved seats for the 2026 G-B elections and released lists of accepted and rejected candidates.
According to the commission, the nomination papers of 36 candidates for women's reserved seats have been accepted. These include 13 candidates from the PML-N, 2 from the PPP, 6 from Islami Tehreek, and 4 from the JUI-F.
Three candidates from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, and one candidate each from the MWM and Gilgit-Baltistan Democratic Party have been approved.
Among PML-N candidates, those approved include Sajida Begum, Jennifer Bahad, Sarwat Saba, Hakeema Sultana, Samia Shakeel, Bushra Khatoon, Yasmeen Afzal, Shireen Akhtar, Amina Ali, Zahra Nazakat, Asmara Sadaf, Suraiya Muhammad Zaman, and Sanam Bibi.
From PPP, priority candidates Kulsoom Jahangir and Saadia Danish were approved.
