HARIPUR:

A Federal Constabulary (FC) employee allegedly shot dead his sister after she returned to her parents' home following a divorce.

According to police officials, the shocking incident of domestic violence took place in Naulki village within the limits of Beer police station, where the brother allegedly opened fire on his sister over a domestic dispute.

Police said the victim's mother, Tazeem Bibi, wife of Imtiaz, stated in her report that her deceased daughter Zoya had married Adil Manzoor, son of Manzoor, a resident of Naulki, four years ago.

Following domestic differences, the victim had recently been divorced, which had led to tensions within the family.

According to sources, the incident occurred in the Naulki area near the Beer police station in Haripur district, where an FC employee and the accused Abbas Ahmed, son of Imtiaz Ahmed, became enraged during a minor argument and opened fire on his sister Zoya Bibi with a pistol.

She was shifted to the hospital in critical condition, but could not survive.

Police reached the crime scene, collected evidence and shifted the body for post-mortem examination. Initial investigations suggest that the incident stemmed from family enmity and the divorce dispute.

Beer police have registered a murder case against the accused Abbas Ahmed, son of Imtiaz, under FIR No. 118 on the complaint of the victim's mother, Tazeem Bibi and started an investigation.

The incident spread fear and panic in the area, while police have launched a search operation to arrest the accused. Officials said all aspects of the case are being investigated, and the suspect would soon be arrested.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old woman was also murdered in the Nalaki area of Beer police limits a day earlier.
