Second cop in citizens assault case netted

Another police official involved in assaulting victims of the Hattar tragedy has been arrested and sent to jail.

According to sources, police constable Owais, accused of assaulting Ahmed, the father of the children who died in the Hattar tragedy, was arrested after the cancellation of his bail.

After the arrest of his colleague Yousaf, accused in the same torture case, Owais had obtained pre-arrest bail (BBA). However, the court cancelled his bail.

During court proceedings, noted lawyer Mirza Akif presented effective and well-argued submissions, after which the court cancelled Owais's bail and ordered that he be sent to jail.

The victim's family and local residents praised Advocate Mirza Akif for pursuing the case and presenting strong legal arguments, expressing hope that justice would be provided to the affected family.
