KARACHI:

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan held a large public gathering outside the Karachi Press Club to mark the first anniversary of 'Marka-e-Haq'.

The event reflected public sentiment against hostile intentions and highlighted unity with the armed forces. Speakers said, when the question of survival arises, the entire nation-from Karachi to Khyber-stands like an iron wall alongside its military.

MQM Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that freedom is a great blessing from Allah and Pakistan has made remarkable history in defending it over the past year. He praised the leadership of Field Marshal General Asim Munir, saying that under his command, the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy demonstrated courage and strategic excellence to defend the country. He added that Pakistan's defence is now stronger, more stable, and unwavering.

Senior leader Syed Mustafa Kamal said that India wrongly assumed Pakistan was weakened by internal and economic challenges, but the five days of 'Marka-e-Haq' proved Pakistan remains a resilient and united nation. He emphasised that during the conflict, all ethnic and sectarian differences vanished and the nation stood united.
