Zara Tareen reflects on how divorce changed her ideology
Tareen opens up about heartbreak, healing and rediscovering herself through solitude and art

Actor and host Zara Tareen, who started her career as a model and photographer before shifting to acting, recently opened up in a podcast interview about how heartbreak changed her perspective on life, how divorce shaped her ideology, and her upcoming project in which she provided dubbing for the Italian animated short film Lo Spauracchio.
Speaking about returning from Texas and beginning her career in Pakistan, Zara shared that her desire to create perfection in her work often overwhelmed her, leading her to become selective about the projects she takes on. One of her recent ventures includes voice acting for Lo Spauracchio, which she dubbed for a friend. The story revolves around childhood adventures.
A major theme of the interview centred on Zara’s inner journey of self-discovery. She spoke about taking a sabbatical from romance to focus on personal peace, mental health, and understanding herself better. The actor reflected on how heartbreak changed her, eventually leading to her divorce from actor Faran Tahir. She revealed that the separation ended on a bitter note, prompting her to step away and heal from emotional pain and mental anguish.
Zara admitted that love is not a priority for her right now. She shared that she is at a stage in life where she is not even thinking about romance and instead wants to focus on herself and improve her health.
The actor also discussed how spending time alone has transformed her thought process and personality. She said she now feels more like herself after realising that she had been holding on to a great deal of pain and was unable to move forward. Zara explained that focusing on self-growth has helped her better understand her own nature and avoid repeating past mistakes in the future.
The duo also reflected on their long-standing professional and personal friendship, including their collaboration on the project Daira. Throughout the interview, Zara emphasised her personal growth, commitment to finding inner peace, and desire to remain true to her artistic voice rather than succumbing to industry pressure.
