Man found murdered on rooftop
A 38-year-old man was found murdered in Hanjarwal on Wednesday.
Police were alerted via emergency helpline 15 after the blood-soaked body was discovered on the rooftop of a house near Shahenshah Chowk on Niaz Beg Road. The victim's throat had been slit, officials said.
Hanjarwal SHO Imran Gujjar said the police reached the scene, cordoned off the area and collected forensic evidence. The body was shifted to a mortuary for post-mortem examination.
The victim, Muhammad Rasool, was a labourer from Charsadda who had been living in the area with his family for the past few months.
The police said initial findings suggested that he had been killed on the rooftop of the house.
Officials said the house had been found locked from outside, while the victim's wife was reportedly missing from the residence.
Investigators were examining multiple angles of the case, including personal enmity, the SHO added.
