PFF celebrates 28th anniversary with coastal events
The 28th anniversary of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) was celebrated across coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
Events were held in Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, and Gwadar. In Karachi, fishermen actively participated in gatherings held in Ibrahim Hyderi, Rehri Goth, Ali Akbar Shah Goth, Chashma Goth, and Jekot.
The central ceremony took place at the PFF head office in Ibrahim Hyderi, where Chairman Syed Mehran Ali Shah cut the anniversary cake. A large number of fishermen, activists, and members of civil society attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mehran Ali Shah said, the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum was founded in 1998 by its late founding chairman, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, who dedicated his life to the struggle for fishermen's rights.
