PAC exposes massive irregularities at BMCH
.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Balochistan Assembly, chaired by Asghar Ali Tareen, reviewed a special audit of Bolan Medical Complex Hospital on Monday. Members Ghulam Dastagir Badini, Rahmat Saleh Baloch, Safia Bibi, Wali Muhammad Noorzai, and Khair Jan Baloch attended. Officials including Assembly Secretary Tahir Shah Kakar and Health Special Secretary Saqib Ahmed were present.
The audit, flagged by the Auditor General, revealed massive financial and administrative irregularities worth billions of rupees. These included procurement violations, under-collection of revenue, opaque payments, missing records, and non-compliance with rules. Advanced medical equipment like CT scanners, angiography machines, and oxygen plants were found non-functional. Drug testing and physical verification of stores were also not conducted.
Committee chairman Tareen expressed anger, noting that despite multiple requests, hospital management failed to provide records, citing reliance on an old system and promising completion by June 2026. The PAC directed management and audit officials to verify records within ten days and initiate proceedings under the BEDA Act against those responsible. Officials will be summoned if non-compliance continues.
