Gemma Atkinson says ‘no chance’ to marrying Gorka Márquez
Gemma Atkinson says she has no plans to marry Gorka Márquez as the couple open up about their views on marriage

Gemma Atkinson has said there is “no chance” she will marry her long-time partner Gorka Márquez, despite the couple being engaged for five years.
The pair, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, discussed their relationship candidly on their podcast Lost in Translation. During the conversation, Atkinson made it clear that marriage is not something she sees in her future.
“I ain’t getting married to him. No chance,” she said, while Márquez appeared largely unfazed by the remark, admitting he also does not feel strongly about tying the knot.
The couple, who share two children together, reflected on their views around long-term relationships and marriage. Atkinson suggested that many marriages around them had ended in divorce, influencing her perspective. Márquez added that he views marriage as largely a legal formality rather than a necessity for commitment.
Atkinson did acknowledge that she had considered marriage for practical reasons, particularly when it comes to legal matters such as wills and family arrangements. However, both maintained that their current relationship works well without formalising it.
The discussion also touched on everyday challenges in their relationship, including differing habits at home, with Atkinson previously joking about Márquez being overly particular about housework.
Their comments have sparked conversation among fans about modern relationships and changing attitudes towards marriage.
According to Daily Mirror, the couple continue to focus on family life while balancing their professional commitments, with no immediate plans to walk down the aisle.
