Man strangles wife to death

DIJKOT:

A woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband over a domestic dispute in Ibn-e-Maryam Colony, police said on Sunday. The suspect fled after the incident.

According to police officials, the suspect Sohail Masih allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife, Sanam, by strangling her during a quarrel. She died on the spot. Upon receiving information, Saddar SHO Rana Muhammad Ali reached the spot.

The body was shifted to the mortuary unit of Allied Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The police launched efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect and said the investigation was under way. In another incident, a man committed suicide by shooting himself due to domestic issues.

According to police, the incident took place in Ideal Town. The deceased, 35-year-old Muhammad Usman, reportedly had frequent disputes with his wife.

A few days earlier, his wife had left for her parental home after a quarrel.

The police said there was a dispute between the couple over property, which left the man under mental stress. Distressed by domestic problems, Usman allegedly shot himself during the night, resulting in his death on the spot.
