Seraiki poet Shakir Shujaabadi hospitalised
Renowned Seraiki poet Shakir Shujaabadi has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Lodhran after falling ill, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
His son Naveed Shakir said the celebrated poet was shifted to hospital a day earlier after suffering from pneumonia, fever, cough and general weakness.
Hospital officials said Shakir Shujaabadi was being provided full medical care and the best available treatment facilities.
The duty medical officer said the poet was suffering from a chest infection and urinary complications, for which antibiotics and other medicines had been prescribed.
Doctors said his condition was improving gradually and expressed hope for a steady recovery.
Naveed Shakir appealed to the public to pray for his father's early recovery.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf said Shakir Shujaabadi was in better condition and receiving special medical attention.
He said no effort would be spared in ensuring the poet's proper treatment.
