Railways cancels quarters over illegal subletting

RAWALPINDI:

Pakistan Railways Rawalpindi Division has taken strict notice of government quarters being illegally rented out to private individuals. The allotment of 24 such quarters has been cancelled and red notices have been issued to tenants for immediate evacuation.

Departmental action has also been initiated against government employees who rented out these quarters after allotment, and their entitlement to official housing has been revoked.

The Divisional Superintendent Railways Rawalpindi has issued a circular confirming the cancellations.

On the instructions of the Divisional Superintendent, Railway Police are conducting a detailed survey of government quarters and residences across the Rawalpindi Division.
