Gina Carano has addressed the possibility of returning to the Star Wars franchise following recent discussions with Lucasfilm leadership.

The actress, who previously portrayed Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, revealed that she has spoken with key figures involved in the franchise.

Carano said she had a conversation with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, both of whom played significant roles in developing The Mandalorian.

“I’ve already had a conversation with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. We got onto a Zoom call. It was really nice,” she said during an interview.

“Dave is taking over as CEO of Star Wars. We didn’t miss a beat. Jon Favreau got on Zoom and was really funny. He was like so; where did we leave off?”

The comments come after Carano settled a wrongful termination lawsuit related to her departure from the series.

She had been removed from the show following controversy surrounding social media posts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, her recent remarks suggest that communication channels with Lucasfilm remain open.

Carano confirmed that she is not involved in the upcoming Star Wars film, which evolved from plans for a fourth season of The Mandalorian. However, her comments have led to speculation among fans about whether her character could return in future projects.

Support for Carano has also come from former co-star Bill Burr, who previously described her as “an absolute sweetheart” and commented on the circumstances surrounding her exit.
