Darrell Sheets death under investigation as police examine cyberbullying claims
A fellow cast member claims the 'Storage Wars' had been targeted online in the weeks leading up to his death

Police are investigating claims that Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets was subjected to cyberbullying prior to his death, according to Page Six.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed it is examining allegations raised after Sheets, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Arizona. Sergeant Kyle Ridgway stated, “We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”
Fellow cast member Rene Nezhoda claimed in an Instagram video that Sheets had been targeted online in the weeks leading up to his death.
He said, “He had this guy, like, really, really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying [him],” adding, “Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope [law enforcement] look into that guy and it’s just not a pass.”
Nezhoda also addressed fans directly, stating, “Guys, just because you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us. It doesn’t mean you know what we’re about.” He continued, “As a matter of fact, if you have somebody in your life that thinks it’s funny to cyberbully other people … slap them in the back of the head.”
Reflecting on their relationship, Nezhoda said, “Deep down, me and Darrell were friends. We talked every now and then. He’s a very hard worker that cared more than anyone I’ve probably ever met about their family.”
Sheets appeared in 163 episodes of Storage Wars between 2010 and 2023, earning the nickname “The Gambler” for his bidding style.
Authorities confirmed his family has been notified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
