Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin have spoken about a recent trespassing incident at their Los Angeles home, revealing how they are coping after the encounter.
The couple addressed the situation while attending the New York premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on April 20, describing their response in the aftermath. “Dealing with the trauma with jokes and fun,” Palvin said on the red carpet in an interview with E! The actor explained that humour is part of how they process difficult moments. “I'm really — this is actually to my detriment — but, I'm really not a ‘too soon' guy in general,” he said. “We're laughing about things the moment they happen.” He added, “You gotta have levity in life. And thankfully, no one was hurt, and there was no more violence than what happened and so it's all okay.”
Palvin echoed the sentiment, stating, “We're just happy to be here to watch the movie.”
The incident reportedly took place at approximately 12:30am on April 17, when Palvin called emergency services after spotting a man trespassing on their property, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
According to TMZ, Sprouse restrained the individual and held him at gunpoint until police arrived. The person did not enter the home, and no injuries were reported.
Reports indicate the couple did not wish to press charges for trespassing. The individual was later taken into custody on outstanding warrants, though his identity has not been disclosed.
Sprouse and Palvin, who met in 2017 and married in Hungary in July 2023, previously spoke about maintaining a close relationship despite work commitments, emphasising the importance of spending time together.
