MULTAN:

A man was beaten for rescuing three car crash victims on Friday.

According to police officials, Ahmed Hassan was travelling from Lahore to Multan when he chanced upon three injured men in Shah Rukne Alam Colony. Ahmed rushed them to a local hospital.

“Hospital officials told me to shift them to Nishtar Hospital, so I took them there,” he told police. Ahmed then called the family of the injured and told them they were in the hospital. When the family arrived they attacked Ahmed and accused him of nearly killing Hassan and Hussain Rasheed. “Ahmed has suffered a head injury and his right arm has been fractured,” Dr Sarfraz Nazish said. Ahmed told police that he had only tried to do the right thing. “This is why there are so many hit-and-run cases. If some one tries to help then they get punished,” he said. Ahmed’s wife Khadeeja said “It serves him right for trying to be a hero in a country like this.”
