RAWALPINDI:

A Lawyers' Facilitation Desk has been established at Benazir Bhutto General Hospital (BBGH) on the orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC), following prolonged delays in the completion of the Lawyers' Hospital project in the Civil Lines area, which has remained unfinished for the past 12 years.

A five-storey Lawyers' Hospital building, intended to provide quality healthcare facilities to members of the legal fraternity affiliated with the District Bar and High Court Bar, has been under construction in Civil Lines for over a decade.

While two floors have been completed and the grey structure of two additional floors is in place, the project remains incomplete.

In light of the delay, and upon intervention by the District Bar and High Court Bar Associations, the Rawalpindi Bench of the LHC, under the direction of Justice Jawad Hassan, oversaw the formal inauguration of the Lawyers' Facilitation Desk at BBGH.

Members of the District Bar's executive body were also present at the ceremony, along with Medical Superintendent Dr Sharjeel Sarfraz Sheikh and his team.

Hospital authorities assured that lawyers would be provided with high-quality medical treatment and that diagnostic tests would be conducted without delay to ensure prompt and efficient healthcare services. They further pledged to take all necessary measures to deliver the best possible medical facilities to the legal community.
