LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted time until May 5 to federal and provincial authorities to submit their responses in a petition seeking removal of large billboards and signboards.

Justice Shujaat Ali Khan heard the case filed by the Judicial Activism Panel.

During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel argued that despite a Supreme Court ruling, large billboards and signboards have not been removed from the city.

The petitioner contended that such billboards are not only present across Lahore but throughout the country, posing serious safety risks. It was further stated that these structures could lead to major accidents at any time, endangering the lives of citizens.
