Two injured suspects arrested

Two men were injured and arrested, while two others escaped during an exchange of fire with police near Baghwali Pulli on Monday night.

According to a police spokesperson, the four suspects on two motorcycles allegedly snatched cash, a mobile phone and other valuables from a citizen near the Ayyub Research Centre Office on Jhang Road before fleeing.

Following a call to the police helpline, a team led by Factory Area SHO.

Muhammad Riaz intercepted the suspects near Baghwali Pulli.

The suspects, however, opened fire and attempted to escape towards Rasalawala Road, prompting a police chase.

In an ensuing encounter, Zubair alias Jhara and Ali Asgar alias Kashi were wounded and taken into custody while their two accomplices managed to escape while firing. Police recovered the looted items from the arrested suspects and shifted them to a hospital, while an investigation was launched.
