KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar on Monday inaugurated a camp in Gulistan-e-Jauhar under the "Parho Parhao Campaign," alongside the newly developed Fatima Surayya Bajia Park in Block 1.

The "Parho Parhao Campaign" will continue until April 25, during which residents of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Blocks 1 to 15 will be able to collect free books for students from primary to matriculation level.

Speaking to residents on the occasion, Monem Zafar said Jamaat-e-Islami believes that education is the foundation of any nation's progress. He stressed that a strong and self-reliant society cannot be built without quality education for children.

He said the party is striving to bring an educational transformation in Karachi through initiatives such as the "Parho Parhao Campaign" and the "Bano Qabil Program," under which thousands of young people are being provided free modern IT training.

Criticising delayed development projects in the city, including the Red Line project, he said these have caused hardship for residents. He added that the issue is not a lack of resources but mismanagement, corruption, and incompetence.

He further said that more than 450,000 students have registered under the "Bano Qabil Program," while over 50,000 youth have completed IT courses, enabling them to support their families and improve their livelihoods.
