FAISALABAD:

Police claimed to have arrested a man accused of killing his wife and two daughters in the Khurrianwala area on Monday.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Javed Iqbal, allegedly shot dead his wife, 37-year-old Saima Bibi, and daughters, 17-year-old Umm Habiba and 13-year-old Ayesha Bibi, following a domestic dispute in Ali Garden on Mai Mastani Road.

The incident occurred late at night when the victims were asleep in a room.

After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene, creating panic and fear in the locality.

Police said the incident was reported by a citizen, after which SP Jaranwala, DSP Khurrianwala, SHO and other officials reached the spot, took the bodies into custody, and shifted them to hospital for post-mortem examination.

Taking notice of the triple murder, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera and City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar directed the formation of special teams under the supervision of SP Jaranwala to arrest the accused.

During a crackdown, Investigation Incharge Sub-Inspector Gulzar Sapra conducted raids at multiple locations and successfully apprehended the suspect. The murder weapon, a pistol, was also recovered from his possession.

Police have initiated further investigation into the case, while senior officers have assured the victim's family of justice.
