The district administration on Monday intensified enforcement of the Punjab government's smart lockdown policy, sealing nine shops for violating prescribed business hours in Sargodha.
Four shops were sealed in Bahawal and five in Sargodha city for non-compliance with the notified timings.
Under directives of the Punjab government, inspection teams led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hussain Ahmad Raza conducted monitoring of markets to ensure strict adherence to business hours.
Assistant commissioners, police and paramilitary personnel carried out daily inspections after 8pm to oversee timely closure of commercial outlets.
The administration stated that around 95 per cent of traders were complying with the orders, which require shops to close by 8:00pm, while restaurants must shut by 10:00pm.
