Rain sweeps away bridge in Jhelum

JHELUM:

A temporary bridge near Shah Kabir in Jalalpur Sharif on the Lillah–Jhelum Dual Carriageway was washed away due to heavy rainfall, severing the link between Pind Dadan Khan tehsil and the district headquarters.

Passengers, transporters, women and the elderly faced severe difficulties as traffic came to a halt. Following reports on social media, restoration work on the route has now begun. Residents have called on the political leadership and district administration to take immediate steps to improve the situation.
