Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in the Chaklala area.
According to police, the victim, who had left her home due to domestic violence following her parents' separation and remarriages, was taken to a lawyer's residence by an acquaintance. She later moved to another house where she alleges she was drugged with "ice" and assaulted by a man identified as Abdul Rauf.
The victim told doctors that after the incident, a dispute broke out between the accused and his wife. Distressed, she attempted suicide by consuming rat poison and was subsequently shifted to hospital. She has demanded legal action against the accused.
Taking notice of the incident, the Rawalpindi CPO directed the SP Potohar to submit a report and ensure the immediate arrest of the suspect. Police officials said efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.
