Taemin becomes first Korean male solo act at Coachella, performing six new songs during his 2026 debut set

Taemin made his Coachella debut on April 11, 2026, becoming the first Korean male solo artist to perform an official solo set at the festival. The SHINee member took to the Mojave Stage in Indio, California, delivering a performance that lasted approximately 50 minutes.
Opening with “Sexy in the Air” and “WANT”, Taemin introduced new material early in the set, including previously unheard tracks “Permission” and “Parasite”.
During the performance, he addressed the audience, saying, “Wassup, Coachella — my name is Taemin, I’m so happy to see all of you here,” adding, “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. I am so happy to share it with you.”
The set combined choreography with live instrumentation and visual production. A sequence involving the song “Parasite” incorporated projected translations and text visuals, presenting themes related to modern society.
The performance also included established tracks such as “MOVE,” “Guilty,” “Heaven,” “Advice,” and “IDEA,” alongside a piano segment introducing another new song, “Frankenstein.”
Taemin concluded his set by performing additional unreleased songs, including “Let Me Be the One,” “Sober,” and “1004,” bringing the total number of new tracks previewed to six.
He later said through his agency, “I've been waiting for this moment on the Coachella stage for a long time,” and added, “I will cherish this moment for a long time today, and I hope it will be a good memory for you.”
The performance drew a large audience at the Mojave Stage, with attendees singing along to Korean lyrics. Reactions shared on social media included comments such as, “It is the peak of the artistic depth that a K-pop solo artist can show.”
