Football: Diya FC, YRS through to semis
Diya FC and Young Rising Star (YRS) cruised into the semi-finals of the National Women Football Championship being held in Islamabad after registering convincing victories over their rivals.
Diya FC defeated Punjab 3-0 with Mariam Laghari providing breakthroughs in the seventh and 51st minute of the match. Hajra Khan then added a third goal to seal the victory with a strike in the 69th minute.
YRS defeated Islamabad 2-0 with the tournament’s top-scorer Malika Noor increasing her tally of goals with a strike in the second minute of the match.
Sehar Zaman also chipped in with a goal in the second half as YRS sealed the win.
