Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi held meetings with Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday and discussed with them the matters of mutual interest and the prevailing political situation in the country.

On his first visit to Lahore after assuming office, Hashmi called on Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. Their discussions covered party matters. On the occasion, the governor congratulated Nawaz Sharif on Pakistan's "historic and exemplary diplomatic success" in the Iran-US ceasefire.

He particularly praised the country's role in facilitating peace efforts, saying that the development had enhanced Pakistan's standing at the international level. He thanked the PML-N chief for reposing confidence in him and entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as the Sindh governor.

Separately, Hashmi also met with former Punjab chief minister and PML-N Senior Vice President Hamza Shehbaz Sharif. The two leaders discussed political issues and matters related to the party's organisational affairs.

During the meeting, Governor Hashmi commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their role in maintaining peace and stability, appreciating their effective leadership in challenging times.
