A businessman was found dead with a gunshot wound inside a car near Zamzama Park in Clifton on Wednesday, police said.
According to Clifton police station SHO Naseer Tanoli, the deceased was identified as 32-year-old Hamza, a resident of a bungalow in Phase V, DHA, located near the park.
Police said the man had left his house and was sitting in his black car parked outside when he allegedly shot himself. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot, cordoned off the area and called in the crime scene unit, which collected forensic evidence. A 9mm pistol was recovered from the vehicle and taken into custody. The weapon is believed to be licensed, police added. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was married and reportedly ran his own business.
Police said the motive behind the suspected suicide could not be ascertained immediately and further investigation was under way, including statements from family members.
After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the heirs.
