Heavy downpour kills two in Bhakkar

At least two people were killed and several others injured in separate incidents caused by heavy rains and hailstorms in Bhakkar, officials said.

In Chak 203 TDA, a dilapidated roof of a mud house collapsed due to continuous downpour, killing a wom-an and injuring four others.

Rescue sources said Manzoor was at home with his family when the roof suddenly caved in. Eight people were present in the room at the time of the inci-dent.

In another incident in the nearby area of Panjgrain, a young man lost his life when the roof of a private restaurant collapsed during the storm.

Local residents carried out initial rescue efforts, pulling victims from the debris and shifting the in-jured to DHQ Hospital Bhakkar, where one person is reported to be in critical condition.
