Pharmacy staffers booked for theft

Kot Lakhpat police have registered a case against a pharmacy technician and his accomplices for stealing government medicines.
The case was registered against Muhammad Arslan, Muhammad Ramadan, Faizan Farooq and Muhammad Bilal following a complaint lodged by Lahore General Hospital (LGS) Emergency Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) Dr Muhammad Shahid.
According to a statement, the suspects had been caught stealing medicines by the hospital administration.
The police launched an investigation after registering the case.
Ameerud Din Medical College Principal Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal ordered an audit of all medicines in the hospital inventory.
LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Faryad Hussain stated that the duty rosters of the arrested employees had been summoned, adding that if the investigation revealed the involvement of any other staff members in the case, they would also face strict legal action.
