HARIPUR:

Employees of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Haripur staged a strong protest demonstration on Friday against the non-payment of salaries, observing a pen-down strike and shutting down offices.

The protest, held on the call of the Local Government Employees Federation Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, saw large participation from staff members. According to demonstrators, TMA employees are frequently deprived of salaries for up to two months at a time, causing severe financial hardship and mental distress. The protesting employees demanded that, like other provincial departments, their salaries and pensions be disbursed regularly each month through Account-IV to ensure timely payments.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the TMA Action Committee leaders warned that if their legitimate demands are not met immediately, the protest movement would be intensified on the next call of the provincial leadership, and all services may be completely suspended.
