Seized vehicles offered to public bodies
.

The federal government has decided to offer seized tampered vehicles to public sector institutions at subsidised rates. Federal bodies will pay 15% of the assessed value and provincial institutions will pay 50%.
The policy applies to vehicles confiscated by the Customs Department of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Private individuals will not be eligible to purchase these vehicles.
Under the framework, vehicles above 1800cc will be reserved for anti-smuggling and enforcement units, while those up to 1800cc may be allotted on a limited basis to Grade 19 officers.
