Security tightened for Good Friday, Easter

Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique visited the Central Control Room of the Home Department on Friday to review security arrangements for the upcoming Christian festivals of Good Friday and Easter.
The visit was attended by Secretary Interior Punjab Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi, Special Secretary Fazalur Rehman, and Additional Secretary Internal Security Maham Asif Malik, who briefed officials on the security situation across the province.
According to the briefing, comprehensive security measures have been put in place for 2,908 Good Friday celebrations and 3,374 churches across Punjab.
Special focus is being placed on places of worship and public areas, in line with the Interior Department's security guidelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafique emphasized the Punjab government's commitment to interfaith harmony.
"High-resolution CCTV cameras have been installed at churches and other sensitive locations," he said.
