Gangs of interprovincial smugglers busted

KARACHI:

The FB Industrial Area police and Manghopir police conducted successful raids and recovered large quantity of non-customs-paid goods.

According to details, during a vehicle search of a vehicle (KV-3492), the FB Industrial Area police recovered approximately 130 kilograms of non-custom-paid betel nut (chhalia), packed in 10 sacks. The police arrested two suspects identified as Huzaifa Khan and Akhtar Ali.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in interprovincial smuggling.

The Manghopir police arrested two suspects and recovered 34 packets of various foreign brands of gutka, 22 cartons of foreign cigarettes, and three packets of naswar.

The arrested suspects were identified as Abid Ali and Saleem.

Meanwhile, the police foiled an attempt to smuggle Indian gutka on Superhighway and arrested four suspects, including two women. The suspects were using women as cover.
