Lift crash at CPO Complex claims 3 lives

Three labourers were killed and another critically injured when a lift collapsed at a newly constructed CPO office complex in Faisalabad, police said on Thursday.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at the construction site located near Iqbal Stadium, within the jurisdiction of Civil Lines police station, where work on the new City Police Office (CPO) complex was underway.
The lift, carrying four workers, suddenly broke down and fell from height, leaving all occupants severely injured.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and shifted the victims to Allied Hospital Faisalabad after providing initial medical aid.
Two workers, identified as 15-year-old Shehron Masih and 47-year-old Younas Masih, died on the spot.
Another worker, 21-year-old Ghulam Fareed, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The fourth worker, Gulfam, remains under treatment and is reported to be in critical condition.
Senior police officials, including SSP Operations Saleem Abbas Kalachi, SP Lyallpur Town Abid Hussain Zafar, DSP Civil Lines, and SHO Civil Lines, reached the site soon after the incident.
The bodies of the deceased were taken into custody, and after completing legal formalities, were handed over to their families.
