Man guns down two sisters in Okara

Third sibling critically injured; suspect on the run

OKARA:

A man shot dead two of his sisters and injured another critically in Shadman Colony of Okara, police said on Thursday.

As per initial reports, the accused opened fire on his three sisters during a domestic dispute, killing Bushra Bibi and Fiza Bibi on the spot, while the third sister sustained injuries.

Rescue officials said the injured woman was first shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Okara and later referred to Sahiwal due to her critical condition.

The suspect, identified as Adil, fled the scene along with the weapon after the incident.

Upon receiving information, a heavy police contingent reached the site.

District Police Officer Dr Asad Ijaz Malhi also visited the scene and took notice of the incident.

The bodies of the deceased were taken into custody and shifted to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered the case and launched an investigation.

A special team has been formed under the supervision of the SP Investigation to probe the incident from various angles.

Officials said the motive behind the shooting has yet to be ascertained, while raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding suspect.
