The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scheduled hearings for cases related to the intra-party elections of four political parties and issued notices to their leadership. It will hear all cases on April 7.
The cases include those of Awaam Pakistan party, the MQM-P, the Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party, and Istehkam Pakistan Party.
The ECP issued a notice to MQM-P chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for failing to hold intra-party elections.
The ECP is responsible for protecting Pakistan's democracy and upholding democratic principles, mainly through the conduct of free and fair polls.
