Robbers injure three during mugging

RAWALPINDI:

Three citizens, including a couple, were injured when armed robbers opened fire during a robbery in the Morgah police station area.

According to police, Nisar Ahmed reported that he resides in Rah-e-Aman, New Lalazar. He said that his brother Muhammad Mushtaq and sister-in-law Sughra Bibi returned home late at night after visiting a relative. As they were locking their car, two armed motorcyclists arrived, blocked their vehicle, and attempted to snatch their sister-in-law's gold bangles.

When she raised an alarm, neighbors including Mehtab, came out, prompting the suspects to open fire. As a result, Mushtaq, Sughra Bibi, and Mehtab sustained serious injuries. The suspects fled on their motorcycle after snatching the gold bangle.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani took notice of the incident and sought a report from SP Potohar, ordering the immediate arrest of the suspects.

SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob visited the hospital, inquired after the injured, and supervised evidence collection.

Police officials said special teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects.
