IHC disposes petition seeking early Eid announcement
.

The Islamabad High Court has disposed of a petition seeking directives for early announcement after moon sighting for Eid.
During the hearing, petitioner Abdullah Shafiq appeared in person. Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar asked whether the petitioner faced any difficulty due to the notice, to which he replied in the negative.
The petitioner raised the issue that the machine used for moon sighting was installed incorrectly and claimed to have video evidence, though his mobile phone was outside the courtroom.
The chief justice inquired whether the alleged issue caused any harm, to which the petitioner argued that Eid was observed a day late despite the moon being sighted earlier.
The petitioner cited a hadith stating that fasting and Eid should be observed upon moon sighting. The Chief Justice asked him to submit detailed references of the hadith in court.
